Career Technical Education

Windsor Unified School District is committed to building programs that support students in reaching their future goals.  With the core structure at Windsor High School, the LTI model at North Bay Met Academy, and introductory programs offered at Windsor Middle School, students in the district have opportunities for enhanced career exploration, internships and mentorships, certifications, and early college credit through Career Technical Education pathways and California Partnership Academies.

California Partnership Academies

The California Partnership Academies (CPAs) are a network of approximately 400 programs supported by competitive state grants in California’s public high schools. Begun in 1985, the CPAs are designed to prepare students for both college and careers. Research has consistently demonstrated their impact on student motivation, high school performance and post-secondary earnings. UC Berkeley College and Career Academy Support Network

Windsor High School has five California Partnership Academies with the following Career focus areas:

BUILD Academy of Construction https://whsbuildacademy.com/
Arete Media Academy: Design, Visual and Media Arts: http://www.aretemediaacademy.com/the-program.html
Axis Stem Academy: Engineering and Architecture: https://www.axisstem.org/
Nueva School for the Arts: Production and Managerial Arts: www.nuevaarts.org
Vineyard Academy: Food Service and Hospitality www.whsvineyardacademy.com

California Partnership Academies (CPAs) receive grant funding from the California Department of Education each year for 10th-12th grade students.  The funds are designed to support student engagement through enrichment and motivational activities, provide extra academic support when needed, and offer valuable work-based learning opportunities.  Like all cores at WHS, the CPA model gives students a sense of community while at school and help them gain valuable skills that will help them in any work or educational environment.

Students can participate in a full CPA program, or take individual CTE courses to explore their interests. Whatever interests you, there is a CTE opportunity to explore it.

Other CTE Offerings/Non-CPA offerings

  • Health and Nutrition
