Hello from Principal Buckman!

Welcome to our first WHS Monthly Newsletter. We’re off and running…It’s hard to believe that we’ve completed 12 weeks of instruction for the 2023-2024 school year. If I haven’t had the opportunity to meet you yet, let me start by introducing myself. I’m Danielle Buckman and this is my tenth year with the Windsor Unified School District. I taught Math for six years, served as the District’s Math Teacher on Special Assignment for the next two and I was the Assistant Principal for WHS last year. As a Windsor resident, my daughter Wyla and I are honored to be part of the Jaggie Community and I look forward to meeting you at one of our upcoming events. Thank you and let’s continue to make this a great year ahead.

- Ms. Buckman

Progress Report #2 will be available on Aeries on Tuesday, November 7

The second 6-week grading period of the school year ended on October 31. Your student’s progress report #2 for Fall Semester (Sept 25-Oct.31) will be in Aeries on 11/8. PLEASE BE ADVISED - If your student earns a D or F in one or more classes, an in danger of failing letter will be sent to you next week. A student must receive a D- or better to earn credits toward graduation. Click here --->  Aeries Log In

Here are some quick ways to help your student:

  • Log into Jupiter to look at your student’s specific test scores or missing assignments by class

  • Contact your student’s teacher for further information

  • Send your student to tutoring! - WHS has FREE Drop-In Academic Peer Tutoring EVERY Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday BEFORE school in the Counseling Center. First come, first served.

The Holidays are coming... Will your student miss more than 5 school days due to your travel plans?  If so, please read:

If your student is missing between 5 to 15 school days outside of our Winter Break Holiday Period  (Dec. 25 - Jan. 8), your student must request a short-term independent study plan called Short-Term IS. Requests for short-term IS must be RECEIVED TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF THE PLANNED ABSENCE. Requests received less than two weeks in advance will not be granted and unexcused absences could lead to truancy issues. Please email your Short Terms IS request to Tammy Azcarate, Academic Counseling Secretary, @ 707-687-7636 or tazcarate@wud.org
